Procurement of AMI

Many times cities procure new AMI systems using the same basic Purchase Order they would use to purchase water meters or office desks.

A new AMI system is a complex, proprietary telecommunication system. The appropriate procurement documents include important terms and conditions that should mandate required features and delivery and support commitments during and after construction. The contract should have other third party agreements to protect the city and make it easy to control the manufacturers schedule and short and long term product performance.

The manufacturers Statement of Work needs to be reviewed and modified to make efficient use of your time and ensure a smooth installation process and integration of the new AMI/Smart Grid data into your Legacy, or new, CIS/Billing system as well as other management software such as Meter Data Management (MDM) and Outage Management software.
