You cannot manage what you cannot measure.
You cannot manage what you cannot measure. It is TritonAMI’s mission to help you efficiently transition to a Smart Grid system. Without the ability to accurately measure and analyze information on a timely basis it is not possible to efficiently manage critical resources and system reliability.
The right combination of metering systems, telecommunication systems and data integration and analysis software must be selected, procured and installed to optimize the timely processing and intelligent analysis of information.
As you begin to build out your Smart Grid it is important to determine your long-term objectives to ensure the initial components can support them in the most cost effective manner and provide the maximum functionality.
Your long-term objectives will determine the components and architecture you need to efficiently collect and analyze grid data.
If the meters, sensors, backhaul and telecommunication systems you install today are incapable of supporting your long-term requirements, precious capital resources will be wasted upgrading your infrastructure again in the future.
Once you have determined the functionality and type of ongoing analysis and control you want from your Smart Grid the infrastructure must be designed and installed to:
- Accurately, reliably and securely measure data, at points throughout the system, at rates that will support the required analysis and control.
- Securely transmit and store the measured data reliably at rates that support the required analysis and control.
- Seamlessly integrate all the data into a common database.
- Analyze and present the data in the manner that allows the most efficient utilization of the system using a variety of management software including Meter Data Management (MDM) software, Customer Information Service (CIS) and Billing software, Custom Software Packages to determine Unaccounted for Water (UFW) on a real time basis, identify pressure and distribution problems and indications of block meter accuracy based on historical comparisons of consumption.
- Automate systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
SimonSaves is a non-proprietary online service developed by TritonAMI that primarily allows Utilities and Utility customers to evaluate their water or energy use.
The objective of the web service is to drive conservation actions by providing an efficient water management tool for the Utility and it’s end users. The web service presents personal water use profiles, group water use profiles, customer side leaks in both a tabular and chart view. The service also monitors individual and group leaks and daily budget limits and provides water user and Utility immediate notifications if any water use inefficiencies are detected.
